Who Can Join
Very possibly, you can! We serve a large number of employee groups and yours may be one of them. You can open up an account at MCU if you are:
- An employee of the City of New York
- A Federal or State employee who works in the five boroughs
- A Health Care professional (private or public) working in New York State
- An employee of an insurance company that offers health related insurance in the State of New York
- An employee of a private college located in the City of New York or an employee of a private or public college in the counties of Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester
- An employee of the City of Yonkers
- A member of certain private industry groups
Retirees are Welcome! Even if you never joined MCU when you were an active employee, you can join the credit union now as long as you are receiving a pension or annuity from one of the organizations that qualify for membership in MCU.
MCU is also a Family Affair! Certain relatives of MCU members can also become members and open their own accounts, enjoying the benefits of our fine financial services. Spouses, parents, children, grandchildren, grandparents, and great grandparents--any linear family member may have an account! And so can the people who are members of the same household as that of a credit union member! ("Household" means living in the same residence and maintaining a single economic unit.). We're a large family, and once you are a member, you are always a member, as long as you retain a share account in good standing.
Ready to Join? Just fill out the on-line Become a Member Form, and we'll send you what you need to get started.
Not sure whether or not you can join? Just ask our Business Development Department by sending them an e-mail -- you may qualify for membership even though your organization is not yet affiliated with MCU.
